Košice Peace Marathon — the oldest in Europe

First held in 1924; the start/finish zone at the southern end of Hlavná is about 1.4 km (15–20 minutes) on foot from your door.

The Košice Peace Marathon, first held in 1924, is the oldest marathon in Europe and the second oldest in the world (World Athletics). It is held every year in early October, with the start and finish zone on Hlavná ulica between the DoubleTree by Hilton hotel and the Dargov department store — about 1.4 km or a 15–20-minute walk from the apartment. Disciplines include the full marathon, half marathon, relay, handbike, and inline skating.
