Košice Airport to the apartment: taxi, Bolt and bus

We’re in the city, not beside the airport — but the transfer is short. Here’s how to do it.

Our apartment is not next to the airport — it is in the city, beside City Park. But Košice Airport (KSC) is close: about 6 km as the crow flies and roughly 8.5 km by road, so a Bolt, taxi or rental car gets you to the door in about 12–15 minutes. On a budget, city bus 23 runs from the airport to the railway station, a 6–7 minute walk (or one bus stop) from the apartment.

By Bolt

Bolt is Košice Airport’s ride-hailing partner. There are 16 dedicated pick-up places right by the terminal, and a self-service kiosk at the exit of the arrivals hall lets you enter your destination, pick a vehicle type and pay by card — no app, mobile data or local SIM needed. Larger vehicle categories are available for families or groups with a lot of luggage. Enter “Svätoplukova” and our house number (sent with your booking) as the destination.

By taxi

The airport also has a long-standing contracted transfer partner, Benze Transfer, which has operated there for more than ten years. The airport recommends using its official partners and the marked zones by the terminal rather than unmarked drivers.

By bus 23

DPMK city bus 23 links the airport (stop Letisko) with the main railway station (stop Staničné námestie), calling at central interchanges such as Námestie osloboditeľov on the way.

  • Frequency (timetable valid from 1 October 2026): on weekdays the first bus leaves the airport at 05:07, then roughly every 30 minutes, with the last at 22:07. At weekends and on public holidays it runs roughly hourly, from 06:17 to 22:17. Timetables are adjusted to flight schedules, so check before you fly.
  • Tickets: buy before boarding from the ticket machine near the bus stop, which takes coins and cards — the driver does not sell tickets. A 30-minute ticket is €1.20 and a 60-minute ticket is €1.40; each basic ticket includes up to two pieces of luggage within DPMK’s size limits. SMS tickets (€1.50, text to 1166) only work from Slovak mobile numbers.
  • Where to change: get off at the end of the line, Staničné námestie (the railway station). From there either walk about 500 m (6–7 minutes) to Svätoplukova Street, or take bus 17 or 19 one stop to Pošta 2 — the stop is about 50 m from the apartment. A 60-minute ticket covers the change.

By rental car

The drive is about 8.5 km, mostly along Moldavská cesta into the centre; OpenStreetMap routing puts it at around 12 minutes in free-flowing traffic, and in our experience it rarely takes more than 15. Your free dedicated parking bay is directly in front of the building, and self check-in means you can arrive whenever your flight lands.

Host tips

From our own experience of hosting guests (tips, not official figures):

  • Once you are settled, short Bolt rides around Košice typically cost about €3. The airport run costs more — check the upfront price.
  • There is a bus stop (Pošta 2, lines 17 and 19) right in front of the house, which makes the bus-from-the-station option easier than it sounds.
  • Shared e-scooters from Bolt and Antik SmartWay operate in the city — fun for adventurous guests getting home from an evening out, but not with a suitcase.
